Lozier
Most of us would be lost without our daily bag -- whether our daily bag is a briefcase, back pack, tote or pocketbook.
The tone of our day is often set by how well organized and together we are when we go out to do our daily things -- work, school, errands, shopping.
How many of us have been frustrated with forgetting our bills to mail, not being able to find our key, or not being able to grab our phone in time to get that call.
(1) Select a bag that works for you.
Thankfully, each one of us is different. You should use a bag that works the way you want it to.
(a) SIZE -- Choose a bag that will hold all of your essentials and that will fit your physical size.
(b) STYLE -- Select a style that works with your style and your needs.
(c) FEATURES -- Consider the features that you need for your gear and for your personality style. Consider waist versus sling wear, how you want the bag to open and close, the number of compartments.
(d) MATERIALS -- Choose materials that are durable and that will meet the demands that you will place on this bag.
(e) COMFORT -- How are you going to carry this bag?
(f) COLOR -- What color do you want or need? Do you need a color that is visible so that you can locate your bag easily?
(g) QUALITY -- Evaluate how the bag is constructed and how durable it is. Will it hold up to the job?
(2) Carry only what you need.
The medical studies have shown that the human body is not a schlepping machine! So be good to yourself and carry only what you really need in your daily bag. When you have to carry other items consider whether you should carry them in a separate bag or not.
(3) Keep your bag organized.
(a) Make a list of all the items that you absolutely need each day in this bag.
(b) Then empty out your bag with what you are carrying now.
(c) Weed through the items, removing what you don't need to carry every day.
(d) Repeat this once a month or more often.
(e) Go to the next step for repacking the bag for the maximum efficiency and organization.
(4) Pack your items consistently.
Place your essentials in the same place every time. Designate a compartment or section of the bag for each item / group of items so that you can locate them quickly.
Here are some helpful tips for packing your essentials:
(a) Put your keys in the outer pocket of the bag or on a hook / D ring every time you are finished with them.
(b) Place your phone in the same compartment based on how quickly you'll need to get at the phone.
(c) Put your wallet / money / checkbook in a separate compartment / location for safeguarding and ease of access.
(d) Have your pens handy for making notes, writing checks, giving your autograph when needed.
(e) Carry your sunglasses / glasses in a place where they won't be damaged and you can easily retrieve them.
(f) Keep your personal papers separate from your work / school papers by using separate files or separate compartments.
(5) Store your bag.
(a) When you are not using your bag put it in the same place every time.
(b) Select a location that is easy to remember and that is easily accessible by you.
(c) Your bag's location should not be in a location where the bag can be kicked, buried under things, or moved by someone else.
Used with permission from Kate R. So has everyone else! Here are some international beauty tips. The beauty tips by women living in different cultures are as varied as the cultures themselves. All these tips have a lot to do with where these women live.
1. Salt Rubs are what give Parisian women that glow. They bounce off free radicals and fend off anti-aging. Recently, a few skin care lines have realized the benefits of whit tea and actually incorporated it in their products. A nice example would be Origins.
8. Coconut oil is the trick to getting full, thick, shiny hair like Indian Women. It’s also great to help strengthen hair if your hair is thinning. Not only will your mornings go more smoothly but you'll have time for your hair and make-up or a healthy breakfast.
2. Place your bare essential make-up in a small cosmetic bag. Dump contents on the counter. Place each item back in the bag as you use it. Store elsewhere any items you don't use daily.
3. Schedule your next hair appointment while you're at the salon. Write it in your planner. Save the time and hassle of calling back later.
4. Forget that you're ten pounds heavier than you'd like to be, hate your hair, or wished you looked better in red lipstick--high heels can make you look sexy in an instant by drawing attention to your shapely ankles, making your legs look longer, your backside more perfect, your breasts more pert and giving your strut a sensual swagger. Voila! Instant sex appeal!
However, if you avoid the allure-adding appeal of high heels simply out of fear or inexperience, it's time to step up to the stiletto, strap it on, and learn how to take a step in the thing:
* Start where you are. If you rarely--or never--wear heels, find a pair of sturdy-heeled footwear--a chunky, squarish heel in the vicinity of two inches is ideal. Slip on the shoes and walk. And walk. And walk. Preferably indoors, where you know the terrain. While you're practicing, twirl, turn corners, stand on your tip-toes, step side to side as you would in a slow dance, do a jig, climb stairs, bend down to pick up a bit of dust from the floor, sit down and get up.
* When walking, keep your legs as straight and close together as you can. Feet should point forward, with each foot placed near-directly in front of the other.
* Step by placing your heel down first, then bring the rest of the foot down quickly and smoothly.
* Take smooth, even steps. If you feel unstable, consider shortening your stride.
* Think "supermodel." As you walk, hold your chin up high and swing your arms for balance.
* Graduate to a higher, skinnier heel. For comfort's sake, make sure the toe is naturally rounded or open and avoid backless or slingback styles, which can be uncomfortable and make you and your ankle wobble. Repeat the above moves on a variety of floor surfaces.
*Avoid walking on ice, slush, mud, grass, sand, gravel and grated surfaces, on which you can slip or sink.
* High heels are supposed to be sexy, yet nothing can be unsexier (and scarier) than tumbling down stairs in your stilettos. Thus, step slowly and grasp the handrail. When ascending, both sole and heel should land together firmly and simultaneously on each step. When descending, only the sole of the shoe needs to be planted on each step.
* Prep your feet. If you'll be wearing shoes for more than an hour, consider "warming feet up" with some simple moves: Stretch your toes as far as they'll naturally go. Return to original position. Repeat at least five times. Next, rotate each foot at the ankle five or six times clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Finish by flexing and pointing toes ten times each foot. Some people swear that these stretches make for a less achy high heel-wearing experience.
* If you start to fall in heels three inches or greater and there is nothing near to brace yourself with, let yourself go down. Of course you'll be embarrassed, but trying to regain your balance may cause you to break your ankle--or at least your shoe.
* As sexy as they are, heels can stress your ankles. No matter how good you get at walking in heels, don't walk great distances in them--and if you feel any pain in your ankle or feet, remove your shoes immediately. If you can find someone to massage your feet, so much the better.

How to Always Have Something to Wear

How to Always Have Something to Wear
Always buying clothes but never have anything to wear? Here's step by step instructions on how to develop a wardrobe.
Here's How:
Stop impulse buying. Every $10 mistake you would have picked up in the bargain bin goes to a really great wardrobe. In the first step of cleaning out your closet, eliminate everything that doesn't fit or that you haven't worn in a year.
A few weeks later, go back and get rid of all the stuff you fudged on the first time around.
With what's left, begin identifying a theme to your wardrobe, relying on favorite looks, colors and lifestyle pieces.
Decide on three colors that either match or will coordinate with what you own and buy only those three colors for apparel.
Establish a workable budget.
Make a list of all the items you need in your wardrobe. (For example: solid blazer, wool pants, white shirt)
Set aside an hour of time each week to shop -- online or off. Avoid super trendy items, unless you can get them for less than $40.
Buy clothing that will span two to three seasons -- like wool crepe or matte jersey.
Purchase only clothes that work with something that you already own.
Pass on anything that doesn't fit -- no matter how great a buy.
Try to add only one or two well-thought out items per month.
Add punchy color and trendiness with accessories, shoes and handbags.
Continually eliminate and replace essential wardrobe pieces once it is built up so you are never caught without a necessary item.
Tips:
Ignore that advice about buying "the best" of everything. Regardless of how well-made a garment is, moths, coffee spills and kids take their toll. Never choose between a mortgage payment and a cashmere sweater.Try to plan your wardrobe around three neutral colors like black, white, khaki, navy or brown.
Buy more solids than prints - you won't get tired of them as quickly

Summer is in -- How to apply Bronzer

How To Apply Bronzer
Written by: Bev Woolfson on Sat, Jun 15th 2002Initially bronzing powders and liquids can be very tricky to apply and can often end up looking over done and fake. The aim is to attain a golden glow on the areas of your face that the sun would normally hit. 1. Make sure your bronzer isn't too dark, as it is not designed to colour your skin but to simply add a glow or shimmer to it. Ideally you should never choose one which is more than 2 shades darker than your natural skin tone. 2. Keep foundation to a minimum when applying bronzer as this can make your complexion too orange and "dirty" when the bronzer is applied. Apply a little tinted moisturiser if you must. 3. A cream or gel works best on drier skin, but if you have an oily complexion then a powder bronzer might give a better effect. If you are using a powder kind, you must apply it with the correct kind of brush - a wide and fluffy powder brush will work best. 4. Pat the brush into the colour then tap off any excess on the back of your hand. Apply to the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose and blend well. If your complexion is quite pale, apply a little pink blusher to your cheeks as well to give a more natural looking glow. 5. If using a liquid bronzer, it is best to apply it with (clean!!) fingers. Rub fingers together to even colour then apply to the apples of your cheeks and blend with circular motions. Work towards the hairline. Remaining colour should be added to the nose, forehead and brow bones to balance the tone of your face. 6. When applying any kind of bronzer it is best to being with a light application and build from there. If you make a mistake and apply too much, wipe off with some cotton wool or apply some light face powder on top to lighten the colour.
Bev Woolfson

How to cleanse your face -- And you thought this was basic

How to Cleanse Your Face
The solution to a glowing complexion is all around you and doesn't cost a penny! WATER! Whether you drink it or splash it, it will cleanse your body off toxins, dirt and grime. here is how to cleanse your face externally.
1. Wash your hands thoroughly before washing the face.
2. Wash with warm water, not hot water, especially if your face flushes often. Hot water will not only burn your skin but also worsen the natural tendency to develop extra blood vessels on your face, giving an unattractive, ruddy complexion.
3. Steam your face occasionally before cleaning it, as steam from hot water effectively opens pores.
4. Wash your face with upward, outward motions.
5. If you live in an area where water is hard, be sure to rinse extra.
6. Unless you are exercising frequently and strenuously or are in a sooty environment, it is unlikely that you need to wash your face more than four times a day.
7. Develop a routine to cleanse your face before going to bed every night. Remember, what is not removed from your skin, sinks into your facial skin and leads to blemishes.
8. If your skin is oily despite frequent washing, you should switch from your cleanser to an astringent or medication. Consult your dermatologist before doing so.
9. Do not over wash. It can oily skins to break out after temporarily drying them.
10. Seal in the essential water after washing your face by applying sunscreen, moisturizer or other treatment creams or lotions.

12 Ways to Look Better

Use lots of good moisturizer on your face. DAYTIME: Pale Browns and Earthy shades look good at daytime.
2. EVENINGS: Grays and shimmery shades work magic.
3. Keep eye makeup subtle.
4. Smudge an eye pencil to define the shape.
5. Use an eyelash curler for those lovely lashes.
6. Don't forget to complete the look with mascara.
7. To reduce appearance of wrinkles, under-eye circles or bags, apply mascara and liner to top lashes only.

Star Secrets to Attractive Eyes:

1. For BRIGHTER, SULTRIER eyes, put a small spot of gold shadow over your pupil right at the lash line.
2. Brighten red, tired eyes with navy mascara instead of black. The blue creates less of a contrast than black, so the red is less obvious.
3. For GORGEOUS green eyes that SPARKLE, brighten your eyes with BURGUNDY mascara at the tips. Try some shimmering bronze or peach eye shadow like ALICIASILVERSTONE.
4. For BOMBSHELL blue eyes, try shades of brown, gold and rust. This will ENHANCE their color- like ELIZABETH HURLEY.
5. Is the restroom the only time you get to sit down? We need to refresh ourselves if we want to work at our best capacity and enjoy life. Here are some wonderful herbal treatments and refreshers that are easy to use and make at home.
Quick RefreshersFrom the moment you wake up your day is hectic. You skip breakfast and barely have time for lunch. It seems like you can never catch a breath, which is why pampering yourself seems out of the question. The thing we often have a hard time understanding is that we must refresh ourselves in order to do our best. You can only travel at 100 miles an hour for so long. Herbs are an inexpensive yet elegant way to pamper yourself when you take a few minutes or hopefully a few hours of quiet time.
Tie fresh lavender, thyme, and sage together in a small bundle and hang near your desk or work area; even if that happens to be the kitchen sink.
Flavor plain cream cheese with finely chopped fresh or crushed dried herbs such as basil, thyme, dill, marjoram, chives, mint or oregano. Add 1 teaspoon of dried herbs, or about 1 tablespoon of fresh, at a time per 8 ounces of cream cheese. Mix them if you wish; as long as they equal those proportions. Keep in a covered container to spread on bagels, crackers or French bread instead of skipping breakfast.
Place dried chamomile, rosemary, lavender and lemon balm in a small cloth bags. Place the bags in a bathroom, under cushions or other places where pressure or warmth will release a wonderful smell.
Special TreatsLavender-vinegar hair rinse: Fill a one quart jar 1/2 full with lavender leaves and flowers. Top with white vinegar; seal with a plastic lid, or place plastic wrap over the jar first before closing lid. Place in a dark place, such as a cupboard for 3-4 weeks. Mix one part lavender vinegar to one part distilled water and use to rinse hair after shampooing.
Herbal Baths: Fresh or dried herbs can be used for a relaxing bath. Use herbs such as lavender, rosemary, lemon verbena or lemon balm. To infuse the herbs simply combine 4 cups boiling water with 4 tablespoons of herbs. Steep for 30 minutes, strain and add liquid to your bath.
To create a bath bag cut a circle of muslin or cheese cloth and place fresh herbs in the center with fine oatmeal (ground in blender) or powdered milk. Gather the bundle and tie tightly with ribbon. Tie the bag from the faucet while the water is running and allow it to soak in your bath water while you are bathing.
Room Freshener: Combine dried lavender, rosemary, southernwood, ground cloves, cinnamon and baking soda. Sprinkle on your carpet and leave for one hour, then vacuum. If you have very light carpet be sure to test an small area first. RelaxingWe all need quiet time to reflect on our life and what we are trying to accomplish. Don't keep speeding down the road of life without taking a daily side trip. Slow down and relax while enjoying the natural fragrance of herbs

8 Mood Boosters for Your Job

8 Mood Boosters for Your Job
By Jenny Saltiel
Simple solutions to keep you happy and productive at work.

Food Solutions

Nothing can sap your strength or put you in a funk faster than stress from work. If you've been feeling down even as you climb up the corporate ladder, try these easy ways to feel happier, calmer, and refreshed from 9 to 5.
1. Drink water.
Did you know dehydration can make you feel sluggish and depressed? Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Recent studies show you don't need all of the eight glasses a day formerly prescribed by doctors and nutritionists, but drink enough to satisfy your thirst, and then some. Consider replacing your soda and juice with water, too. One easy solution: keep a big bottle of water at your desk and make several trips to the water cooler to refill it. (Use a container that is meant to be reused, like a Rubbermaid or Nalgene bottle. Some lightweight plastic containers break down after several uses and can cause you to consume harmful contaminants.)
2. Eat healthy snacks.
Instead of a chocolate bar from the vending machine for your 3:00 pick-me-up, snack on apples, low-fat yogurt, or carrots with peanut butter. If trail mix appeals to you, try this mood-boosting recipe: mix walnuts, almonds, lightly toasted pumpkin seeds, and raisins together in a large container for a week's worth of snacking. These mineral-rich mini meals will give you plenty of power to stay focused and alert all afternoon.
3. Avoid heavy foods and alcohol at business lunches.
It's tempting to indulge in rich foods or a nice glass of wine during a business lunch -- especially when you can charge it to your expense account. But falling asleep from a food coma at your desk just isn't worth it. Stick with an entree salad and a glass of sparkling water to keep you on your toes for the rest of the day. And instead of finishing the meal with dessert and coffee, order herbal tea. Both sugar and caffeine can set you up for a mood nosedive right around the time you need to be most productive.

Fitness Solutions
4. Walk it off.
Take a break from sitting at your desk in the stale office air and go for a brisk walk around the block. Just 10 minutes is all you need to clear your head and feel revived.
5. Try a Spinal Twist.
Get a feeling of calm and serenity with two easy yoga poses that can be done while sitting at your desk:
Step 1. Cross one leg over the other and place the opposite hand on your top leg.
Step 2. Gently twist your upper body in the opposite direction of your top knee, using your hand on the back of your chair for leverage.
Step 3. Take a few slow deep breaths in this position.
Step 4. Change sides and repeat.
6. Follow with a Seated Warrior.
Step 1. Begin by sitting up tall and pressing both feet into the floor.
Step 2. Raise both arms up straight overhead and press your palms together firmly.
Step 3. If you have no neck injuries, drop your head back slightly and look up at your thumbs. Make sure your shoulders are not hunched up next to your ears, so allow your shoulder blades to slide down your back.
Step 4. Close your eyes and take five deep breaths in and out of your nose in this posture.
Step 5. Slowly release your arms down to your sides and open your eyes.

Organization Solutions
7. Don't procrastinate.
Putting off that report that's due at the end of week until Thursday afternoon will leave you feeling plenty stressed. Giving yourself ample time to get tasks done will help you feel less frazzled and stay motivated. Plus, you can score brownie points with your boss by getting projects done ahead of time!
8. Make a 3-task to-do list.
A mile-long list of things to do each week can make you feel overwhelmed and anxious. Instead, allow yourself to feel a sense of accomplishment every day by creating a more manageable three-item to-do list. You'll be surprised at how much more you get done by shortening your list!

Originally published on LHJ.com, February 2005

At home Swedish spa retreat

Create a relaxing retreat in your home by designing an at home Swedish spa in you own bathroom.

We all need a private sanctuary, a place to relax, and refresh. It matters little where your stress comes from, career, family or both; one of the best ways to unwind is in a hot bath at the end of the day. Imagine yourself, in a tub of warm soothing water, scented with aromatic oil, or bath salts. As your muscles relax and your mind wanders, the tension of the day simply floats away.
Equally important to the process of relaxation are your surroundings. Design your bath in a way that it becomes an escape, a mini-vacation from day to day worries and concerns. With minimal expense, and a lot of imagination, you can transform your bath into a Swedish spa, where you can pamper and soak your troubles away.
The first thing that comes to mind when you think the words “Swedish spa” is natural; wood, stone, and a neutral pallet. Start with your walls. Beadboard paneling in a golden oak tone is a wonderful choice. The look is all natural, yet warm and inviting. Trim your paneling with molding and baseboards in a creamy white shade.
Once you have finished the walls, your next decision is flooring. Many people are more comfortable with carpet. This is fine, and will work well, if you choose a carpet in a neutral tone, perhaps a Berber or even sisal carpeting. Whle carpet is warm and convenient; a floor of natural quarry tile, in a terra cotta or even a soft dove gray would look great. If warmth is a concern, remember all the lovely bath mats and area rugs available.
While staying within the boundaries of a neutral pallet, consider your fixtures. White is the natural choice. When choosing your lavatory, simple clean lines work best with this look. Many of the new pedestal sinks are both functional and attractive. Faucets and towel racks in chrome, perhaps with white porcelain detail, complete the theme.
Finally, to enhance the look, consider your accessories. That old saying “God is in the details”, certainly applies to decorating. Your choice of accessories is the rope that binds the whole concept together. In keeping with the neutral theme, choose accessories of a natural design. A clear, glass bowl piled high with sea sponges looks great in one corner of the bathtub. Consider a small three-tiered shelf in chrome, these are available at many bath or linen stores. Situate the shelf near the tub, stock one shelf with assorted bath oils, salts, and glycerin soaps. Fill the other shelves with fluffy, white towels, bath brushes, and loufahs. A single chrome hook mounted on the back of the door, is a great place to hang your favorite, white terry robe. Don’t forget to use several sizes and shapes of white beeswax candles. They look great scattered randomly in groups.
Now, run a warm soothing bath. Light your candles, add your favorite oil, or salts, and pour yourself a glass of wine or perhaps a cup of tea. Let the worries of the day float away on a cloud of bubbles!
You will emerge relaxed and refreshed, ready to tackle anything!

Setting Up a Quiet Zone

Setting Up a Quiet Zone
Whether you want to meditate, pray, or do yoga exercises in your home, a space set aside can help make the activity a relaxing ritual.

Space Just for You
A space set aside will helpyou relax when you want to.
Finding the right place in your home for a relaxing ritual is an important part in making it become routine. Once you start a regular program, you might find it hard to stop. "Everyone can do it," points out Sharon Salzberg, co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society of Barre, Massachusetts. "You may not feel total gratification the first time you try it or even the fifth time, but if you have the dedication you can get results."
Since most meditation experts suggest keeping a regular schedule (20 to 30 minutes a day, if possible) there is nothing more convenient and special than dedicating space in your home to the activity. "Choose anywhere you won't be distracted," suggests Kristin Hutchens, a program sales consultant for the Chopra Center for Well Being in La Jolla, California. "The meditation space in your home -- it doesn't have to be sprawling with futons."
Choose a room that feels comfortable, and adapt that room to meet your needs. Avoid choosing a room like a kitchen or living room, because chances are the noise and activity level will be too high. Instead, choose a space that is more private and not the center of activity in your home. Some people relax and focus best in a dark room, but others prefer a space filled with natural light. "I think it should be a plain room, something very tranquil so your energy isn't bouncing off everything," says Salzberg. "If it's too dark, you may go to sleep."
An extra bedroom, a peaceful den, or a sunroom are all good choices for a meditative space. "Get rid of the clutter so it's a dedicated space," adds Salzberg. "Pick a quiet area, and it would be good if there isn't a phone there." If you have a room that overlooks a garden, pond, lake, or ocean, this would be a wonderful location to inspire you. A window can also be helpful if you get sleepy; the fresh air can keep you alert, and the view can refresh you upon opening your eyes.
You don't need to be behind closed doors. And although it can be helpful to face away from the doorway of the room you're in, to avoid distraction, "the key point of meditation is that it can be done in any circumstance," says Salzberg, "so don't feel discouraged if you find yourself on the living-room couch, if that's where you're really most comfortable." Just make sure anyone who shares your home knows your plans, so you can avoid unwanted disruptions.
Not everyone has the luxury of devoting an entire room to meditation or prayer. A corner or alcove is fine. Drape a cloth over a table and place objects on it that are important to you, such as a candle, holy books, symbols of your faith, photos of loved ones, mementos of relaxing places you've visited, and so on. Keeping these items in the space will help prevent your corner from becoming a multi-use space that you have to clean up each time before you can use it -- and also will remind you to do your meditation.

Setting Up the Room
What to add to your meditation room depends on your personal tastes and meditation goals. Every person will want and need different tools to concentrate and relax. "Put symbols of things important to you around, so each time you look at the imagery and you go into your silence you tap into that imagery," suggests Hutchens, who adds, "you want things that delight you but do not distract you." For Hutchens, senses are very important, so she includes candles and incense in her meditation room. Candles can add an element of ritual, of a sense of setting aside a special time.
Some people like to bring in elements of nature, which can be as simple as a pebble or a feather, or as elaborate as a tabletop water fountain. Others like to listen to tapes or CDs with music, natural sounds (ocean, rain, the woods), hymns, or chants, so a stereo system is a welcome addition for any meditation space. A journal, book of daily devotions, and holy writings also can have a home here.
The key to a great meditation space is creating a spot that allows you to relax and focus. Most meditation experts say that sitting is the most desired position. "You want a comfortable chair," says Salzberg. "Your back should be erect without being strained, so your breath will be normal." Depending on what feels best for you, a good chair, floor, exercise mat, or bench can all work. Cushions and pillows are also very helpful, and the goal is to feel free and open. "Being comfortable is very important," adds Hutchens. "It's not about sitting in a pretzel position or anything like that. You want to be upright and comfortable."

Meditation and Yoga
Speaking of pretzel positions, many people who master meditation techniques also find an interest in yoga. "Yoga literally means union, and there are many different forms of yoga," explains Hutchens. "Yoga is really bringing into union all the elements of body, mind, and spirit." Popular hatha yoga consists of breathing, postures, relaxation, and in most cases, meditation.
In some ways, the elements and principles of yoga go hand in hand with the basics of meditation ("it's a moving meditation," confirms Hutchens), but yoga usually requires more physical stamina. Yoga may also require more space for the movements and stretches that are part of the discipline. Always consult with a physician before you start a yoga program and make sure to learn good techniques that will benefit your mind and body.
In terms of setting up a space to do yoga, the same concepts apply as for a meditation area. You might want music or fresh air, and decide whether you'd prefer a bright or darkened setting. Mats for doing yoga are a specialized type of exercise mat, generally available at sporting-goods stores. A wood floor under the mat is best; yoga done on carpeting is easier when the rug is thin.

Dos and Don'ts
DO:
Choose a space that is quiet and allows you to focus your energy and attention.
Consider having a CD player or stereo nearby so you can listen to soothing sounds or inspiring music.
Make sure everyone in your home knows about your special space, and your schedule. A simple note on the door is always a good way to alert family that you don't want to be disturbed.
Choose a space that is not extremely dark or especially bright.
DON'T:
Select a busy kitchen or living room. (However, if the living room is comfortable and quiet, go for it.)
Worry if you can't dedicate an entire room. A corner or alcove can work if you use room screens or add objects to the space to define the zone as your special area.
Place too many items in your meditation or prayer zone. You can find yourself being distracted by all the extras in the space.
Feel you absolutely need a window. Fresh air and a beautiful view are always nice, but consider them extras.

This article from Ladies home journal

How to pamper yourself!!!

Use the tips to pamper yourself and relax and calm your stressed-out mind and body!

Life is full of stress, headaches, and worries, and you deal with problems that create these every day. One way to help yourself feel better, is to take some time and pamper yourself. This article will give you some tips on how to do that.
Tip #1
Start filling your bath tub up with warm water, and then add a capful or two of your best bubble bath or bath foam. The ideal bubble bath or bath foam will contain soothing chamomile or lavender ingredients. Chamomile and lavender are two of the most popular herbs that are known to relax and calm the human body. To bathe your tired body, there are many different types of scented gels you can use which will make your skin feel soft and supple.
Relaxin the warm water and feel the tensions of the day just soak away. For an added body pampering, you should splash on an after-bath tonic, spritz or powder to make you feel fresh.
Tip #2
After your relaxing bath and body soak is done, and you have put on a soft, silky robe, this is the ideal time to give yourself a manicure and a pedicure, as your nails are soft and will be easy to trim and shape. You can then polish your nails using your favorite nail color. A manicure will not only make your finger and toe nails more attractive, it will make you feel more attractive on the inside and give your self-esteem a lift.
Tip #3
Make yourself a steaming cup of tea, hot chocolate, or flavored coffee. Chamomile tea is a relaxing choice, while mint teas are a natural pick-me-up. Hot chocolate is a low-fat way to satisfy a sweet tooth, as well as flavored coffees. Flavored coffees offer a variety of flavors to choose from, such as Mocha or French Vanilla.
Tip #4
Light up some scented candles around the room, then shut off the lights and sit down and relax in the quiet, soothing ambiance you have just created for yourself. Again, many candles are scented, and the choice of fragrance is practically endless. The soft light and fragrance are sure to relax your mind, body, and spirit.
Tip #5
If you would rather not have so much peace and quiet, you can turn on your stereo and listen to your favorite tunes drifting out of the speakers. As the old saying goes, "Music can soothe the savage beast," and soft music can soothe your inner self as well, and relax your jangled nerves.
Tip #6
Do some simple deep-breathing exercises and fill your body with pure oxygen. Oxygen is needed by every organ and every muscle in the body for them to function properly. When you are stressed or tense, your muscles tighten, and you do not breathe as deeply as you normally would.
Be sure to sit up straight and expand your lungs. Breathe in through your nose and exhale out your mouth. Fill your lungs to their full capacity and remember to hold your breath a few seconds before breathing out. You will instantly feel relaxed when you do this exercise, and it can be done anywhere at any time you need to relax.
Whatver you choose to do,you need to take some time to pamper yourself, both inside and out, mentally and physically. After all, as hard as you work at the many job that you do, you owe it to yourself to take some time and give yourself a little pampering. Your mind and body will thank you for it!
<img width='1' height='1'
